Our recent trip to Singapore was truly a milestone. In partnership with Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS)and acclaimed local restaurants Imperial Treasure and 5 Senses Café, we successfully hosted a two-day "Inclusive Dining Pop-Up" Experience. Bringing our Inclusive Dining experience from "Captain Softmeal" to Singapore, we collaborated with top-tier culinary teams to realize a shared vision: ensuring that individuals with swallowing difficulties can enjoy safe, exquisite meals in a real restaurant setting.
To ensure every dish met IDDSI international standards while preserving its authentic flavor, we worked closely with the chefs and a speech therapist through rigorous R&D and adjustments. From kitchen demonstrations and texture testing to the final plating, the chefs displayed immense professionalism, dedicated to serving nothing but the best.
The part that moved usthe most was seeing seniors dining at the same table with their families—no longer just spectators, but as active participants enjoying delicious local favorites in different textures with confidence. This proves that with the right care food solutions and choices, swallowing difficulties need not be a barrier to enjoying good food and connecting with their loved ones.
The joy of eating belongs to everyone. We hope this seed of inclusivity continues to grow and flourish.
We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our partners for walking this path with us: To SUSS for your trust and invitation; To Imperial Treasure and 5 Senses Café for your professional dedication; And to all our supporting organizations: The Ngee Ann Kongsi, SG Assist, Vanguard Healthcare, WINGS, and Dementia Singapore.
